Sing Your Song!
Because you are the best when you are being YOU
Earlier this week, as I navigated a bustling street, a thought struck me. Among the sea of faces, I wondered, “Who here is a Joshua?” Not in the literal sense, but rather, who embodies the characteristics of Joshua from the Bible. Joshua, known for his obedience and acceptance of his purpose, has always intrigued me.
God fulfilled His promise to Moses and His people through Joshua. He was the one to lead Israel into battle for the land they were to inherit, a different kind of leader with a unique set of skills and strengths.
While Moses was indeed a man of God who walked with Him. The Lord needed someone who could actually lead at the battle front for the land His people were to inherit. In other words, another type of leader with a different set of skills and strengths.
Joshua’s personality, I imagine, was quite different from Moses’. Known for his courage and unwavering faith, Joshua once asked for the sun and moon to stand still, and they did. For a full day! The Lord honored his seemingly impossible request, perhaps due to Joshua’s obedience and commitment to his calling.
As I continued my walk, I pondered our tendency to emulate others’ paths, like Moses’, often overlooking our true calling. Our inner Joshua.
